Start your journey with brunch at Café Rinjani Dawn in Senaru, where you’ll meet your guide and porters. After traveling to Sembalun, you’ll ascend Pergasingan Hill with views that capture the colorful farmlands and the towering Mount Rinjani. At the summit, enjoy a fully catered camping experience, complete with freshly prepared meals, stargazing by the campfire, and a sunrise you’ll never forget. If you would like to experience more of Senaru prior to climbing Pergasingan Hill, we suggest upgrading to our “Explore the North” package, which includes a guided walk to Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep waterfall, Senaru traditional village and the local rice-fields.

After a relaxing brunch and meet-up with your guide and porters at Cafe Rinjani Dawn in Senaru, you’ll travel through the scenic countryside of Lombok to reach Sembalun Village in East Lombok. Nestled in the foothills of Mount Rinjani, Sembalun serves as the starting point of your trek. The journey up Pergasingan Hill takes about 2-3 hours, covering steep yet manageable terrain that rewards you with panoramic views at every turn. With the expert guidance and support of our experienced team, you’ll enjoy a comfortable, fully-catered trek, taking breaks for hydration and photos along the way.

As you reach the top of Pergasingan Hill, you’ll find your campsite set up by our dedicated porters, leaving you free to take in the stunning scenery as your evening meal is prepared. Imagine savoring a freshly cooked dinner while overlooking the vibrant farmlands below and the rugged silhouette of Mount Rinjani in the distance. The evening brings a special chance for stargazing; our remote location offers an unobstructed view of the night sky, which you can enjoy by a warm campfire, making the perfect end to a day full of adventure.

The following morning, you’ll wake up to an unforgettable sunrise view, accompanied by a hot breakfast and coffee to start your day. After packing up camp, you’ll descend the hill at a relaxed pace, arriving back in Sembalun by mid-morning. From there, we’ll provide a transfer back to Senaru, where you can enjoy a final coffee at Cafe Rinjani Dawn, collect any belongings, and reflect on an amazing journey before returning to your next destination.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Senaru & Sembalun. Climb Pergasingan hill

Morning Pickup: Collected by your driver from your accommodation, private car transfer to Senaru. Time of collection will vary with location.
11am. Enjoy coffee, food, and refreshments at Cafe Rinjani Dawn, overlooking rice terraces.
1pmAround , travel to Sembalun in East Lombok
Around 2.15pm, commence the Pergasingan Hill scenic trek
5.30pm. Arrive at the Pergasingan Hill campsite. Relax whilst the porters and guides set-up camp for the night, and start preparing a hot meal. Enjoy the magnificent view with a hot drink.
6.30pm. Dinner
7.00pm. Free time / rest

Day 2: Breakfast on Pergasingan Hill, Sembalun, Sernaru, Home

After admiring the early morning mists rising off the valley floor, you will have a leisurely breakfast.
The porters will pack up the campsite and start making their way down the hill to Sembalun.
Walking with your guide, you will trek down the path, stopping on the way to take photographs. If you have a drone and want to take some pictures / video footage, this is perfectly ok (just be considerate of others and don’t fly too close).
If it’s the right time of year, you may be able to buy some strawberries or other fruit from the local farmers.
When you reach the bottom of the hill you will meet your driver, and start the journey back to Senaru and your onward destination (often the Gili Islands, or Mandalika in South Lombok).
If you would like to see some of Sembalun village, such as the Mosque, feel free to speak to your guide and driver.
When you arrive back in Senaru, you can retrieve any belongings you have left in our care. Depending on how much time you have, you can have a coffee and refreshments at Cafe Rinjani Dawn, before leaving for your next destination.
